Bitter Bight is at 54 degrees south on the southern side of large southern-hemisphere contnent, facing ocean to the south, very high mountains to the west, and a large region of arid and semi-arid lands to the north. The region in under the influence of an intense rainshadow and a very cold current, resulting in depressed temperatures for its lattitude; dry, foggy summers; and no thunderstorm activity, most of percipitation coming in light but frequent drizzle or flurries in the cool season.

The climate is a merger of cool-summer Mediterranean climates like Eureka, California and the semi-arid to sub-polar oceanic climates of southern Patagonia, placed further south and made a bit more continental.

Bitter Bight is mostly used a penal colony for Australians who complain about their summer weather.

Solid A. Pretty much a drier, cooler version of the Otway Coast in Victoria which is an excellent climate. 64 snow days in winter (plus a couple more in autumn and spring) and cool and foggy in summer is pretty close to perfection for me, but I'd like at least 19-20C average summer max for A+. The record highs in summer suggest you do get warmer days now and then though.

I kind of based this a little on Australian spots like Esperence... averages much cooler than occasional desert outbursts.

Looks great. A little more warmth would be desired, but it's not needed. A

F+ for being much dryer and sunnier than sub-Antarctic climates like MacQuarie Island. Still horrible though.

I guess this is what Melbourne would be like if Australia was shifted 16 degrees South.

A+ for the cloud and F for the rain - the totals are far too low for my liking of course but the persistent fog could more than make up for it and if it were foggy very day that would be just perfect, it's times like this when I miss San Francisco's "fog" - anything blotting out the sun is fine

Perth's summer so far has been rainier and cloudier than I'd hoped... You'd send me there?

(^^Mediterranean climate and Australia's sunniest major coastal city in summer? )
