And there's extreme heat in Buenos Aires and extreme cold in Italy. This is relative to average, which was the whole point originally.

Average High in Venice is 8C or 46F degrees. Canals dont start freezing at those temps. High temps struggling to get past freezing.
The lows nearby have been getting to -5 to -10C (Teens).

Shows how we just missed out on the coldest weather.. typical really, I bet the same happens in summer for the heat lovers, but then again that means I'll miss out on my storms again this year LOL

Your Sunday morning Entertainment from JB.

Actually, at least he brings up some facts this time. I'll ignore what he says about 360 days out in East U.S. Been there, seen that, hasnt done that. LOL

He mentions Europe first minute or so.

I'll post this on the Winter Thread too since it deals with U.S also.

That's cold enough to freeze them to some degree. Far from enough to partake in ice fishing, but enough to create some surface ice.

Canals in Amsterdam are also freezing over...looks like temperatures there are not expected to go above freezing for at least another week as well. Mean average temperature of just -7C / 19F this month. Boats have been banned from some of the canals to allow them to properly freeze so residents can skate.

^^ Yep they got to -23°C/-9°F last night near Amsterdam. Here it's the 5 consecutive ice day.

Nice snow pics from England! I wish we had it here. We had a little snow, but it's nothing more than a dusting. 100 km to the west they got the 15 cm, even the western suburbs got up to 10 cm.
The only noticeable thing is that the temp was between -6°C and -7°C while it snowed, it's quite unusual here.

Last night's min temps got down to -33°C/-27°F in the Baltic countries. Extremes in lowland France were 5°C/41°F in Brittany and -19°C/-2°F in Mulhouse.

The snow ain't gonna last long.. we need those cold temperatures, but that is not going to happen.

The past few years all of Europe took part but now UK, Ireland and even Brittany are missing out. NOT FAIR!!!

Good. I don't mind the occasional dumping of snow (for weather variety interest etc..) but then I'd like to see it melt as fast as it fell. The novelty wears off and it just becomes an encumbering pain in the ass and a nightmare for work.
