Lanai City, Hawaii - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christmas Island - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Naha, Okinawa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christmas Island is probably the most comfortable tropical climate I've come across. Record high of 89F? Precipitation amounts and the pattern look favourable. And it's always practically in the 70s.

Lanai City has very pleasant temperatures year round with an interesting precipitation pattern for a tropical climate (though it isn't unique in Hawaii). The thing I like about the precipitation pattern here is that the dry season isn't bone dry like you'd normally see in a more typical tropical wet/dry climate. Lanai also barely meets both temperature thresholds (inside lower limit of 18C and just above 22C)... It's a really unique climate as far as I can tell.

Las Palmas has nice temperatures, minimal rain, and yet still high humidity year round. A little boring though...

Naha is quite wet and probably the least pleasant out of this climate selection. Even so, it doesn't look all that bad. The wet season is pretty long though. Naha also has the hottest summers out of the four.

Personally, my choice would be between Christmas Island and Lanai City. I would probably go for Christmas Island since it has more rain and it still has a decently long dry season (4 months).

Tough one. It boils down to Lanai City and Naha, Lanai City is by far more comfortable but Nahahas the thunderstorm advantage.. the rainy season in Lanai City just looks like general rain

Just because they have their own special island locations does not improve the grade.

And remember the term pleasant is highly subjective and depends on the individual and the time of the year.

There is no universal definition for pleasant weather for all people, so that type of false assumption needs to end.

3 out of 4 of them have unpleasant climates in my opinion and plenty of people would agree with me. Las Palmas gets a D+, Christmas Island a D+, and Lanai City a C-.

Naha gets a C so it wins, and is kind of pleasant most of the time.

Christmas Island - temperatures look quite nice for a tropical climate. It was a very close one for me though.

Definitely Lanai City since it's the mildest one.

Naha for me as it has high rainfall and a cooler season. Accidentally voted for Christmas Island.

Las Palmas easily. Nice and dry, quite sunny, warmish temperatures. Lanai City next, dislike the other two.

All of them are horrific for my taste, except for Lanai City, which is merely awful. Lanai City has the least heat and humidity of any of them, so I will vote for that. For the record, my preference is short, mild summers (60/40F) and long, cold winters (5/-10F) with abundant snowfall. So these places do not feature even a minute resemblance to what I prefer. In my grading scale, all four would receive a grade of F or F-.
