It sure is our friend, and if this is true it conforms to the trend seen on the predictions of persisting cold this autumn, with conditions gradually lurching towards extreme cold starting in May .

I'm waiting for the media now to come out and show us the well below normal temps thats been happening. Hartford, CT now 12 consecutive days of well below normal High temp. I havent checked other locations.

Not enough rain to be a wet spring at least; this is nothing like last May.

I wouldn't criticize the media; April still came out somewhat above average. The amount below average has been nowhere the amount above average earlier in the season.

Well, we hear not a peep from them, so I'd criticize them. They should present both sides of the coin, and also be honest if one side is thicker than the other . I seem to recall departures from normal being frequently cited as well as streaks of above-normal temperatures being shown during the persistent heat; but again, nary a peep when the opposite occurs, at least with the streaks. I remember only small coverage of a big below-normal streak in December 2010, and that's the last time I recall seeing a cool streak being widely reported. Still, the negative departures haven't been nearly as notable as the positive departures, so one would expect more attention to the bigger, more dominant departures, but not presenting the other side can taint the public impression. Again, I would criticize them, but not quite over the same issues as the others on here.

Meanwhile they see a forecast of 2 days of above normal and they jump all over it.

"Wet" doesnt have to match May of last year. Wet means normal or above. Spring ends June 21st.

Great Look here guys. Watch the storms in PA fall apart running into the cooler air. Visible Satellite view disappears when sun goes down. Low level winds apparent coming from ocean.

Just amazing stuff.

Last post for today. I'm actually getting concerned now for strong storms because if the winds continue to come off the coast and the storms are strong enough to push through, that can possibly create some intense storms and downpours.

Take a look at that insane line that stretches 500 miles!
