It's high in the mountains.
In summer it's bone dry every day or almost every day.
Average daytime highs are from low 70s to high 80s, depending on the elevation.
Humidity is so low that it's non-existent almost.
So the sun is shining bright among the clearest and bluest skies every day and star-watching at night is amazing.
Nights are nice and cool, around low to mid 40s.
RIP biting bugs.
In winter, some snow, sometimes a lot - which allows dry conifer forests to grow.
But it's still very sunny during most days in winter.
Daytime highs go above the freezing point on many days, so that all that snow can melt quickly.
Nights are always well below freezing, because the diurnal temperature range is big, but it never gets too freezing cold during the day time. Anyway, since air is always very dry, cold isn't felt as bitter.
Today's front will ease to scattered showers late tonight before a second front hits tomorrow around midday. Showers will continue to pass through the city before easing tuesday afternoon. The rest of the week will be dry and mostly sunny with easterlies next weekend bringing more seasonable warmth.
