Current temperature is -1.1C and snowing heavily. This snow is due to an area of deep low pressure which is moisture-laden. Tightly packed isobars are leading to blizzard conditions and severe drifting.

Currently, 21.1 cm of snow lay on the ground, which is increasing by around 4cm an hour.

Days with rain: 10

Snowfall: 32.21 in
Days with snow: 12

Sunshine Hours: 43.04
Days with sun: 12
Days with > 1 hr: 7

Noticeably wetter and duller than last month. A warm spell at the end of the month brought two days of highs in the 60s with one day falling just 1 degree short of tying the all-time record high for the month of November. The mean temperature for the month was bang on average.

A little teaser for the month of December...a new all-time record high is looking likely around mid-month.

It will certainly be quite Christmas-like in the Northern Interior this week, and the cold is forecast to intensify as mid-month approaches, though the snow will become less frequent. However, I can tell you that something very special is in the works for Christmas itself, that will put an ordinary White Christmas to shame.
