My comments about this climate from another thread:
Canberra has a really good climate. Summers are warm but not hot. Winters are cold enough to give the impression of winter but still mild. Precipitation is moderate and sunshine plentiful (though not excessive). I'd rate it an A.
It's not that bad, but not great eihter in my books. While winter lows and summer highs are OK, winter highs are far too mild, and summer lows far too cool. It could do with more precipitation too.
That being said, it is probably my favorite climate among the Australian sizeable cities.

Cold winter lows
Cool winter days
Cool summer lows
Horrific record lows especially in summer
No dry season
Rating : C
By the way, Wikipedia describes Canberra's climate as continental, which is incredibly ignorant. I'm going to correct that now.

Canberra is continental by Australian standards.
Can get very cold minimums in winter, -5 or -6C , but this rarely translates to snow.
Summers can be warm to hot, but rarely over the top.
Would give this an A, just, due to the pleasant minimums for most of the year, and good and reliable sunshine.

Yeah I agree Canberra definitely is not a continental climate. It is well within the limits of a Cfb/oceanic climate. And while it isn't directly on a coast, it isn't far at all.
That said, I don't really think of it as the typical oceanic climate.
B- for Canberra..
positives are high sunshine and the fact that it's never recorded an ice day EVER despite being inland and higher elevation too. Summer highs are alright too.
negatives are cold lows year round and a bit drier than desired.
