How do you people get the wikipedia climate spreadsheets in your dream climate threads? Do you edit existing articles and then change them back or do you somehow create new ones?

This is the way I'd do it, there might be a simpler way though...

1. Go to any Wikipedia page with a climate box which you'd like to use.

2. Click on the 'edit' link in the particular section that contains the climate box.

3. Edit the data located under ''{{weather box'' to suit your own preferences. For example you could use Melbourne as your template. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...tion_edit_link

4. Once you've completed all the relevant data, click on 'show preview'. Make sure that you don't save the changes you make to the Wikipedia page.

5. Use the Snipping Tool (or something similar) to copy the box and save it to your computer.

6. Then upload the saved weather box to a file sharing site like imgur: the simple image sharer (no registration required).

7. You can then copy the image url and paste it here!

One extra note, many people's boxes are too wide and CD resizes them usually making them look not as nice. Narrow the width of your browswer and your box will be ok. CD's limit is around 900 pixels of width. You'll have to play around a bit.

Rather than just editing the weatherbox on the page you found it I recommend signing up for Wikipedia and using your sandbox ("My Sandbox" in the top right, next to your username) to play around with it, that way you can actually save it. And everytime you hit "save" it keeps that revision in your sandbox's history, so you can go back and edit old weatherboxes without having to re-enter all the data.

It doesn't matter because oversize images come up with a banner at the top which you can click to view full size.

Either edit one on a page on wikipedia, or start from scratch using the template (Template:Weather box - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Any variables you don't need just don't fill out. I use imgur to post pictures on here by copying the "BBCode (message boards & forums)" link it gives you once you've uploaded it there. You can resize the picture using edit, but for weather boxes, this site does it automatically.
