Btw, impressive sunshine stats from Leeds, I didn't expect it to be sunnier than Paris after reading the comments about North Sea gloom. I guess 5 less sunless days helps.
Yeah.. the North Sea gloom was only around for the morning and burned away by afternoon.. then it suddenly disappeared one day and it was sunny from dawn 'til dusk.
Yes, incredibly sunny, the sunniest on record for some places.. Southampton on the south coast was the leader at 209 hours.. sunnier then any summer month last year..
Here March 2012 was remarkably warm and sunny. It's the 4th warmest since 1873 and the 4th sunniest since 1958 at Paris downtown station. It's far from the record though (229 h).

Extremely warm and dry month here in northwest NJ. Actually, I believe it's the second warmest March on record next to 1945. There was no snow that actually stuck the entire month, and no snow on the ground either. There were only a few days with frost when usually almost every day in March sees frost. The only significant rainfall came on the 2nd and the 31st, and even then it was only about a quarter of an inch on each day. This is definitely one March I won't forget anytime soon!
