Yup. Whats helping is the lack of rain/snow melt so the rivers arent really moving as fast. So its easier to freeze over. But kinda surprised for just 3 days worth. It was 50s just 4 days ago.

I'm kind of glad it didn't snow here, I wouldn't want to have to deal with snow that would be sticking around until next week.

Couple forecasts for 2 locations in CT

Danbury forecasted to go below zero tonight and tomorrow night and stay in the teens during the day.

About 15 below normal.

I'm getting tired of the cold already.

-34c here tonight, windchill below -40c all day today can't even go outside for a walk.

Lips chapped for a week now, same with hands.

It went from 17C/63F to -15C/5F in nine days good old continental climates

I am looking forward to February but knowing what lies the following month is awful - cold rain, slush, and allergies hopefully there will be a March heatwave part II this year

Incredible. 1/23/13 7pm sounding. Not often we see this. Upton Long Island actual sounding at 7pm last night. .Below zero just a few thousand feet up

6:30am temps 1/24/13. Any moisture that falls north of North Carolina will be snow because all levels are below freezing

Looks like one more snowfall before it all gets washed away by rain, with flood warnings due to rapid thaw.

It was nice while it lasted, and 11 consecutive days of snow cover is impressive for this part of the world.

how deep was your snow cover again?

We have less than inch on the ground but it's been well below freezing.
