What a difference a few days makes! The top image shows the Appalachian State Weather Camera view of Sanford Mall (the main "quad") on Friday morning. The high was 33 F. The bottom is this morning, and we've surpassed the forecast high of 63F.
Winter weather on the way! Depending on who you listen to, we're in for 4-6" but heard north of Green Bay could be 12" or more! First the temps need to drop some overnight, guess this is a Wednesday event.
1/29/13. First big rain storm of the season so we have Flood Watches out for snowmelt, ice jams, and Large river flooding possibilites. High Wind Watches also up for 60mph. Freezing rain advisories for above 1000' tonight.
The air masses over the eastern two-thirds of the United States are at war over the next two days with the potential for strong to possibly even severe thunderstorms for much of the northern Mid Atlantic tomorrow night and Thursday morning.
From struggling to reach 20 F to freezing rain to pouring rain to warm temperatures and thunderstorms. Quite the week here (and in much of the country).
