We've had very few thunderstorms this year, none of them being impressive. It seems that they're either way to the north (Hudson Valley/New England) or just to the south (Jersey Shore).

At least there's heat though.

This is probably like what most saw yesterday in Saskatchewan. Captured yesterday in the SE corner of SK.

Probably the most commonly sighted formation out in the countryside yesterday:

Still haven't seen a tornado pic but where people reported a couple of them they were getting obscene amounts of rain (and the others that were confirmed seem to have been sent straight to Environment Canada's mets).

Vermont and northern New York look prone to major flooding if a tropical storm hits. As well as Georgia.

Was just about to post about that!

1026mb High and 6000m 500mb Heights!

Said best by NWS Ohio.

"Just how strong is this dome of high pressure? Last eve wx balloon measured highest 500mb height (6003m) recorded since 1958."

Good read from a study done explaining the 500mb heights and how you can see weather patterns from it and also understand where its cold and warm.

Get ready NorthEast/New England! Breath in Breath out.

Euro says Monday morning will be the best moment. (North of NJ)

Temps in the 50s(F)
Dewpoints in the 50s(F)
Clear Skies
850mb temps in the single digits (C°)

Sunday looking georgous too! Hang in there; the front is coming.... and that means severe storms as well as it comes from the NorthWest.
