I can't recall what the lowest humidity I've seen here was, but probably about 20%. When I lived down south I saw 1% at 5C/43F. Water could be turned into snow in such conditions.

RH below 20% is fairly common in summer here. Not sure of the record but I've seen it drop as low as 4% in Perth.

I'm sure there were reports of the RH falling to 8% at Altnaharra in Scotland and even lower on Ben Nevis.

The record low for Sydney is <5% during the January 1939 Heatwave - whereby temperature and humidity records still stand today.
Sydney has only recorded one month without rainfall - August 1995.
Records in this area are less reliable.

Surprised that it could get lower on Ben Nevis. Why do you expect lower for it?

I remember seeing 1% for Mt. Washington; supposedly not a typo.

Even in a tropical country, I'm not free from dry season. It usually goes from June to September, when sometimes it gets under 15%. Last year I think we got a 12% in August but, record here was in August 14th 2009: 10%

The lowest in Duluth (airport, not harbor station) normally seen appears to be 10-20%, with hourly readings of 20-30% often seen, particularly in April and May. This most often occurs in the Spring months.

Looking back (eyeballing) the records, the lowest in...

2012 (to date) was 22% on March 15th
2011 was 18% on March 29th
2010 was 12% on April 10th and May 18th
2009 was 14% on April 14th
2008 was 22% on May 28th
2007 was 16% on May 8th
2006 was 18% on April 25th
The lowest humidity I have ever experienced was 2% in numerous years in Phoenix, Arizona. 2% is also the lowest humidity ever recorded there. This usually occurs in May and/or June.
