We're on a sunshine rampage so far this month. A total of 88 hours in the first 9 days, or an average of 9.8 hours/day. Not bad for winter . I imagine the % of total available sunshine is very high as well.
Terrific conditions again for this weekend with fairly settled conditions continuing into next week, although likelihood of the odd shower towards the end of next week. Brisbane Forecast
Unless we have an extended unsettled spell in the later stages of the month, we are heading towards an impressive August total .
Aside: the weather forum seems very active at present. This thread was buried away on page 6!
164 hours to the 16th and with the epic current 10 day forecast, September 2013 might end up being legendary as the sunniest September ever in Nice and the first one to crack 300 hours (record so far is 296.2 hours in 1954, while LTA is around 240 IIRC)
"La suite"... they really have no clue. My bet is for a fierce mediterranean episode and a 299.9 h monthly total. It's all you guys deserve.
Meanwhile here, we're stuck at 92.6 hours for the first 17 days, the two thirds of which are from the first 5 days. So about 30 hours in almost 2 weeks. The sunny season, while intense for our standards, was very short this year.
Just thought I'd thrown in the sunshine hours for the Australian state capitals for the last month of winter.

Brisbane - 313.6
Sydney - 277.5
Perth - 210.5
