Hobart is a cold subarctic climate. Anyone that would give it love is a drug addict.
I'm about as far from a drug addict as you can get. I don't even take as much as a sip of alcohol, let alone any other psychotropic drug, even when prescribed by a doctor. Then again, I didn't give all that much love to it (but it's certainly more than many have, judging by the lopsided poll results). Also, Hobart's Koeppen type is Cfb; subarctic begins at Cfc. Then again I'm not sure what definition of subarctic you're using .
I think people who call places like Hobart subarctic have not actually been to a subarctic climate - Hobart is positively tropical by comparison, and doesn't even receive snow - what a pathetic place, but looking at the record high, it's less pathetic for heat lovers than cold lovers.
Sochi gets snow so wins for me even if I vastly prefer the summers in Hobart.
I agree. It was supposed to be an exaggeration of how warm Hobart would seem after looking at and being in and used to the real subarctic. Of course Hobart isn't even close to tropical levels.

Exactly.. Hobart is a boring maritime climate, nowhere near subarctic (but this was also an exaggeration, so whatever )
I think you can grow Canary Island date palms there, not sure
Nice cool summers are better than steamy Sochi
