Well alcohol makes you feel warmer though sippping a mildly alcoholic that's cold creating a cooling effect.

The first I drank, it was because I was outside at night in March and it was cold and someone suggested drinking would warm me up. Didn't help, but one drink isn't really sufficient.

Loved every minute of it. I believe it hit 49C there in Feb 2009.

Renmark is a lovely town, friendly people, nice atmosphere, and has a fantastic climate.
It is a nice town, particularly with the river. I enjoyed going for drives on really hot days, which could be a bit trying, with no working aircon in the charger.

London's record high was between 37C and 38C, depending on which station, with Heathrow (London's standard site) recording a maximum of 37.9C.

Met Office: August 2003 hot spell

Queens, NY [officially] - 107°F (41.7 C), recorded in July of 1966.

Highest Experienced - 112°F (44.5 C) in July 2010 in Queens, NY & Bergen County, NJ [car thermometer].

Highest Heat Index I've felt was in the 120's in both NY & FL.

Just to add to my previous post:

The Brogdale national record of 38.5C has been questioned by Philip Eden and others who suggest that the real temperature was probably 2C too high. They prefer to quote the Kew Gardens reading of 38.1C as the new national record. This was discussed in this paper:

Gravesend has also been questioned due to its non-standard exposure. The difference between 38.1C and 38.5C is so negligible though.

June 29, 2012. Record high temperature of 109 F / 43 C in Nashville, TN. This is also the hottest I have personally experienced. It was terrible, felt like a blast furnace.

35.8°C (96.4°F) was the alltime recording at our official weather station. But in the city itself it was even hotter that day, various thermometers showed 38°C (100°F).
Luckily, the heat was dry and a sea breeze brought the temperatures back to twenties (C) after 6 PM.
This happened on the 9th August 1992.

Highest I've personally experienced here: Unsure, probably 29-30C
Highest I've experienced anywhere - Probably around 50C at Death Valley
