Hope everyone realizes statistics and data nowadays is affected by major heat island affects.

Case in point... Everywhere outside NYC has cooled to 50s and 60s. NYC remains in mid 70s at 10:45pmEST

I'm at 60 now. 1 hour from NYC.

My average high/low temperatures for August so far are 87F/57F (31C/14C) and KEUG's is 89F/53F (32/12).

Some rain fell this morning, the first occurrence for this month. I'd guess about 0.05" / 1.2 mm at the most.

August is turning out to be a deceptively dry month here, it's somewhat below the England & Wales average this month, probably due to missing out on all the thunderstorms the country has seen this month. But it is a lot cloudier than the England & Wales average for this month.

Low of 56 here but now mid 60s already (2 hrs later). Woke up at 3am was hot as heck. Had to lower the A/C thermostat. Before you wonder why let me explain.

There wasnt enough wind to keep the windows open to push the cooler air inside from the outside.
The house is well insulated that it retains its temp

So because of these 2 factors I had to have my A/C on half the night to cool the bedroom from 70 to 65..

Record warmest night in Nice for that time of the year, and one of the 5 warmest nights in history, with a minimum slightly above 27°C

^^ Nice, sultry night!

Currently 37°C/99°F and partly cloudy. Yesterday's high was 38°C/101°F in Paris and suburbs. It was the first 100°F+ high here in nine years.
It was still 32°C/90°F at midnight in central Paris, but already a "cool" 28°C/82°F at Orly airport.
Unfortunately it cooled down quite a bit till the sunrise, with lows between 22°C/72°F and 18°C/64°F, depending on the location in the UHI.

Montgivray, central France (but technically in the northern half), reached 42.3°C/108.1°F. Not bad for a climate where it supposedly never gets hot.

Map from yesterday:

I guess our heat wave has moved across the Atlantic. And northwards. Interesting central France is capable of hotter temperatures than lower latitude New England.

No heatwave here. We may aswell be in North America because we seem to get more similar weather to eastern canada than Europe. Like last winter it was freezing cold in Europe and it was boiling hot here, it was boiling hot in eastern Canada aswell. Then in 2010 it was freezing cold in canada, and it was freezing cold here while boiling hot in europe. I wonder if there is a correlation?
