The Azores- prefer the Mediterranean rainfall distribution and lower year-round minimum temperatures.
Sunshine levels don't appear to be right, as the rainfall in summer is very low.
Norfolk Island certainly is acceptable, but deceptively humid and clammy, and verging on subtropical as opposed to temperate.
I would've gone with Ponta for the overall comfortable temperatures, but it's way too gloomy. Norfolk Island can be too muggy, but at least it's sunny and doesn't get that hot.
I think the lower rainfall in Ponta Delgada edges Norfolk out in that aspect. Both have high humidity during summers because of their latitudes and offshore positions, so that favours Ponta Delgada in having less sunshine with the intensity that brings.
Narrow plus for Norfolk with the milder winters, although 16/11 is still excellent. Can't vote. A draw between two fabulous climates!
Too bad Norfolk Island doesn't belong to NZ, much closer to here than it is to Australia.
