I wonder when we are going to get some proper wintery weather.

We are forecast temps in the 50s in the day and 30s at night for the next two weeks. Surely this cannot last any longer, it has been like this for weeks.

Five nights of out the next ten are predicted to be at or below the freezing point here. I'm hoping to get a solid frost at long last.

Looks like I could get my first frost this week, with GFS showing 0C for here.

Right now it is totally calm and has been for the past 24 hours.

Snow & ice comparisons.

2 days ago on the left, same day last year in the middle, and the first noticeable snowpack in the lower 48 last year on right. (Oct 27).

There's obviously an earlier snow pack this year but on the same token more snow in "Northern" Canada last year on the day of October 6th. Most will melt soon anyway in U.S.

But I thought it was interesting that more snow fell 3 weeks earlier this year than last year. And look at where it fell last year. I remember that, being so far south.

Dont forget.. A spec on this map can mean a few large cities or an entire area. Sometimes the map size ratio gets forgotten.

Won't it drop further if it's been sunny?

Nope.

Its 9c right now I bet it only barely reaches 0c.

There seems to be a problem with the temp dropping much further below 0c. Dew points are low, No wind and its sunny. Perhaps there is an inversion.

You have an odd climate. It gets really cold maximums (for the time of year), but doesn't have minimums to match- even in sunny weather
