Mild, wet and gloomy was the theme for this month and only the last week showed a significant departure from this pattern. The month was frost-free until the 23rd. Overall, I give it a D -- I would happily trade the relative mildness for drier, sunnier conditions.

A day at 20C in a winter month with almost no frost at 43 latitude.. lucky you

This summer felt warm to me. Definitely warm away from the ocean. Several days above 34C (mid-90s) in the Fraser Valley which is way TOO warm for me

To me there were only a handful of days that felt truly warm.. certainly not the whole summer. My main problem are the winters here though... too cold and wet.

but thats not whats the data from malraver says. It says average high was 17.3 celsius, wich i think is almost exactly the average high for august, while the low was like 3 celsius ABOVE average. So it was, indeed, an above average month if we take in count the data malraver posted.

August 2012 in Duluth, Minnesota was slightly warmer than normal (average high / low 77/55) and much drier than usual (1.42" of rainfall, about a third of normal). Dry, sunny weather and westerly-to-southwesterly winds dominated the month. The high reached 80 or above on nine days, topping out at 87 on the 1st and 86 on the 24th. A period of highs in the upper 60s was observed between the 8th and the 10th. Lows fell into the 40s on a total of five days, with a low of 42 on the 17th. On all of these days the high rebounded into the lower to upper 70s. Dewpoints were mostly comfortable, with only the 1st recording a maximum dewpoint of 70 degrees or greater. Rain fell in primarily the first half of the month, with the second half (16th - 31st) only receiving about 0.14". Local streams are very low, especially after they expanded due to the June 19th - 20th floods.

I found this post funny, although I don't think it was intended to be.

Just spotted something on TheWeatherOutlook - a location in the Pennines at 260m asl had a max temperature of 21.4c all summer - insane.
