No 130kmh winds like Wellington is having, to dry things out. it just stays still and damp. There must have been some good rain in the hills, as the river was briefly over the road today( over the 4M mark). Some good standing waves, with kayakers making the most of it. No trees in the river, as they must have all been washed out recently. There has been thunder a few times over the last week or so, but never what I would call a storm.

Had a nice respite at the beach today, with a pleasant onshore breeze, but surprisingly, snow down to the 800m/2600ft mark. It didn't look (or feel) like snowy skies at all. A big rainbow out to sea as well.
Sounds just like a Vancouver winter

It has reminded me of that part of the world. Either rain coming down, or mist rising up.

Hasn't been cold though, with the average max for the month at nearly 19C so far.

Managed to reach 29.3C today. Just short of the record for this early in spring which was 29.5C on this day back in 1994. A shower or two forecast for the next couple of days before it warms up again later in the week.

Seems to be warmer than normal in northern WA, looking like another hot summer is likely.

I was expecting a higher temperature for that part of Australia.

Here in São Paulo, winter is dead and gone since late July. Sunny and warmer days ever since...Today we got 33,1ºC, one of the highests for 2012.

33.1C still sounds very warm for early September in Sao Paulo! I think our temperatures in Perth are quite close to what you get in southern Brazil around Porto Alegre.

Spring is usually a bit delayed here, August and September have similar temperatures, we don't normally get warm weather until October.

10mm in the last 20 minutes here, pleasant surprise as BOM was forecasting only partly cloudy conditions.
