Especially coming out of summer, 70 F would feel like that "chilly autumn day."

The upper 70's weather we are getting now has felt chilly to me, as well as the min temps in the low 60's. Our lowest temp between June 28th and September 8th was 64F, and that temp was only reached on one night in July and one night in August.

You do, but that's just for the timing of when I'd like my traditional autumn weather. In a true four-season climate (like Minneapolis) the timing of autumn will be later. Instead of late August to late October, it would be more like mid September to mid November.

Obviously a Indian Summer is the better option... beautiful warm air in October feels wonderful, like the 25 degrees last year, and 20 degrees at 1:00AM. However this year we're having a "Falkland's Summer" in September, bloody cold and cloudy minging garbage.

I hope October delivers an unseasonal warm blast with some sun allowing it to reach 20°C in Buxton for a couple of days, though 24 would be better, as 20 isn't warm at all, just room temperature.

I'd go for the Indian summer, it's one of the features I like about the climate in the northeast US. While I like the generally colder days I would also enjoy the odd spell of warmer 't-shirt weather' mixed in.

Indian summers don't happen here, so I'll go with traditional Autumn weather. I enjoy it anyway, as it's generally settled weather , and still warm enough to ripen tomatoes and pumpkins until mid May or so.

I love Indian summer weather, though Vancouver isn't particularly prone to it. We do seem to have a rather strong seasonal lag this year, though, with June being somewhat chilly, damp, and springlike and September so far mirroring August.

Much prefer fall.
It's my favorite season.
Nippy air.
Football.
Thanksgiving.

It's all so wonderful.
