Winter, although I personally dislike it, is probably the most interesting season. Snow, rain, wind, ice, freezing rain, sleet. All kinds of precipitation, big storms, Noreasters, Lake Effect snow squalls. Lots of interesting weather going on during the winter months, at least up in the Northern states.

Summer is probably the most boring season. Every day is pretty much sunny and hot.

Spring and fall are decently interesting, due to lots of temperature swings.

What do you think?

Summer since it's relatively stable. Warm, often humid, and sunny. The thunderstorms can get interesting though.

Most interesting would probably be winter due to the snow and nor'easters, but fall and early spring can bring some exciting weather too.

Most boring to me, autumn. Always just cool and tedious, cloudy, drizzly, nothingness.

Spring, Summer and Winter are all equally interesting in their own ways, but summer slightly more so with its chance of storms, though they have been a massive disappointment in recent years.

Most boring? Easily winter. Nothing but slate-grey stratocrapulous overcast for 4 months straight, drizzle, rain and dank, damp gloominess. Daytime highs are between 12-15C 99% of the time. F%#! winter

Summer is the most interesting for obvious reasons.

Generally, it's winter by a wide margin. Winter in non-tropical and non-polar climates is the most interesting season, and it's the season that features the most numerous and intense storm systems, as well as snow, rain, wind, and the most temperature variation. Spring in many places is a close second, with the transition from sunny and warm to wet snow, and often featuring the windiest conditions of the year.

Summer would have to be the most boring, especially in subtropical climates, which feature nothing but heat and sunshine and perhaps a severe thunderstorm or record high if you're lucky (some years are more exciting than others - in the South Atlantic the difference between 2007 and 2012 is stark). Once you reach the Dfb climate zone, though, there is usually more variation in temperature and thunderstorm action, which is a different beast from a hot (or real) summer, but it's still usually not as interesting as winter.

Summer is most boring, just hot and nasty all the time. Winter is more interesting, never know what we'll get in Houston for winter.

Wow, melbourne's climate sounds like my springtime here winter here switches between cloudy, sunny, icy, snowy, or dry. Winter rain is the worst, I got sick from it both times I was in England in winter since I rarely get rainy winters where I live (same general area as Ipfan and tom77falcons)

------

Most boring: fall. It's windy and rather dry, sky is usually partly cloudy or mostly cloudy.

Most interesting: spring. Spring is the time of severe thunderstorms and tornado watches

Summer is boring due to lack of storms, I prefer the other seasons because they either have snow or gales.

We probably get more days with thunder than we do days of snow. With the exception of 2009/10 and 2010/11, we usually hardly get any snow or cold! Autumn is very boring, damp, cool and windy.
