Places that feel colder/hotter than their averages suggest

San Francisco is supposedly pretty mild, but it can feel pretty chilly even during the warmer months. Even if the high is 70 F or so, there might be 20+mph winds blowing that day.

I lived near Brest for a few years when I was a little kid and I don't recall it to be particularly dark or cool. Sun is a normal occurence. I also remember snow (that was the 80s though).

It was pretty rainy and unsettled weather with interesting clouds is the norm though.

Colder? Rotterdam in winter. The wind and the humidity...

Hotter? Alicante in central summer months. I don't know why but inside of the city center it feels 10ºC warmer than in front of the beach. This doesn't happen anywhere else in Spain except in Alicante. XD

I guess Los Angeles would be my pick. The general public seems to think of it as this tropical paradise that's basically the west coast version of Miami, but in reality nighttime temps, even in the summer, are fairly cool. Winter lows are in the 40s and summer lows can sometimes drop into the 50s, especially in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. And the closer you are to the coast, the foggier it gets at night, which makes it feel even cooler.
