Which of these 2 climates at 43-44° latitude would you choose...
I'd go for the Chathams for much milder winters.

Vladivostok is one of my favourites so...

Chatham Islands. Vladivostok's additional 600 hours sun and much warmer summers don't compensate for it being so much colder overall.

I hate choosing between 2 terrible options. I think I'll go with Chatham islands though. Vladivostok is just too cold for too long. Summers are nice but very brief, and not worth the long, cold winters.

Vladivostok, rather unwillingly.

Vladivostok for more seasonality.

Both are far from ideal for me, but I'll go with Vladivostok for the sunnier conditions and greater seasonal variety.

Can't really say I'm dying to move to either. I could go for flying to Vladi every June and returning to the Chathams in October.

Hard to decide, but I went Chatham Islands. Yeah, dull I know, but sunnier than where I live now, and more consistently milder weather. Summer average highs are poor however, and similar to Buxton but the rest of the year is a vast improvement. My selection of this climate more reveals what displeasure really cold temperatures bring. I will not stand months of below zero (°C) rubbish!
