As for me, here are the coldest and warmest monthly averages for the closest downtown and airport stations. Downtown station is still located about 5 km from the centre of the UHI and airport station is suburban, not rural.

Paris-Montsouris (downtown, since 1873)
Coldest - December 1879: -2.7/-10.4°C (27.1/13.3°F) - 12.3°C/22.1°F below (current) average
Warmest - July 2006: 30.4/19.3°C (86.7/66.7°F) - 4.2°C/7.6°F above average

Paris-Orly (airport, since 1945)
Coldest - February 1956: -0.4/-7.8°C (31.3/18°F) - 8.9°C/16°F below average
Warmest - July 2006: 30.5/17.9°C (86.9/64.2°F) - 4.2/7.6°F above average

Hottest average minimum: 22.7C / 73F (February 1985) +4.5C / +8F

Coldest average maximum: 15.7C / 60F (July 1910) -2.6C / -5F

Coldest average minimum: 5.3C / 42F (July 2012) -2.4C / -4F

Heathrow
Coldest - Jan 1963 (0.8C/-4.6C) - 7.1C below average mean
Warmest - Jul 2006 (28.2C/16.7C) - 3.8C above average mean

London weather centre recorded a mean of 22.9C in July 2006, but I can't find any data before 1992 (the coldest month would have also been Jan 1963).

July 2006 is clear winner for warmest with an average high of nearly 24°C (75°F) yes, in BUXTON can you believe that??

As for coldest, don't know, don't care, as long as it doesn't happen again.

New York City (KLGA)....1948-Present.

Warmest: July 2010
Hi: 91°F / 32.8°C.......(+6°F / +3.4°C)
Lo: 75°F / 23.9°C.......(+5°F / +2.8°C)

Coldest: January 1977
Hi: 28°F / -2.2°C.......(-12°F / -6.6°C)
Lo: 17°F / -8.3°C.......(-11°F / -6.1°C)

I'm actually a bit surprised at both, the warmest average isn't THAT much above normal while the coldest average appears out of this world.

For our town, the highest recorded temperature was 91°F / 33°C in 1965 and the lowest recorded temperature was 55°F / 13°C in 1951. So I guess we have a temperature range of 36 degrees if we are using Fahrenheit and 20 degrees if we are using Celsius.
