Dry still here in Philly. The radio forecast this morning was for 1-3 inches of snow in the city, starting this afternoon, and 3-6 inches in the western and northern 'burbs.

The Weather Channel website says it's snowing right now, but the only flakes I see are the ones in my office. I'll believe it when I see it, LOL. But it is pretty darn cold out there.

I need an assistance... This is very interesting! Sounding from Upton at 7am. Look at the warming layer above the small freezing layer! Can someone figure out what height that is from 1338 to 1829meters? Interesting there's warming there.

Well, The Weather Channel has said to the nor'easter, "I christen thee 'Winter Storm Athena'". I told you about the East Coast bias...

Anyway, Winter Storm Warnings are up in New Jersey and parts of Delaware, and it looks like big-time snow in New Jersey on the radar. Snow has broken out in Long Island, and the snow zone looks to be spreading . It looks like a bigger snow event than the "future radars" predicted. Heavy rain looks to be spreading, or perhaps that's brightbanding - either way something big is incoming.

By the way, just how unusual is a storm of this breath and intensity in early November? It doesn't occur too often, that's for sure.

Very rare especially near the coast. Maybe a something that drops enough to stick, but not a wide storm.

Ground covered in Hamden, CT within 40 minutes! College students walking around in the snow. This is about 20 minutes from coast.

Thundersnow is possible later! Nor'Easter is here.
