what are the sunshine hours for portland? it seems gloomy with all those 20% months! And i dont like the fact that winters are so dark and summers so sunny.
Anyways, i dont like any of this climtes, none seems sunny enough. Glasgow could be good if it wasnt that dark. Invercargill is too boring and monotonous and Puerto Mont is even worse.
I guess Portland is the best for being more sunny, but its far from being my ideal.

Portland sunshine hours are higher than you'd guess from averaging the % since the lowest % sunshine occurs in the part of the year with the shortest days and the highest % during the part of the year with the longer days. At 46° so the day length change is significant, though not as extreme as Glasgow.
For me:
Yuck to Glascow. Puerto Montt and Invercargill have slightly milder winters and less chance for cold air than Portland so plus. But not that much warmer in winter. Sunshine for Puerto Montt is probably terrible judging from the precipitation days and the climate type. Portland is much better the rest of the year than any of these climates, summers are great just a bit short. Almost too dry, it's a combination of California in summer and Glasgow in the winter. Things brown up a bit at the end of the summer.

Puerto Montt gets about 1536 hours from my source.
I don't care for dull winters either, but if a place were sunny enough overall I'd take it. Portland doesn't have a good enough total to compensate for that.
I pick Glasgow. It was cloudy and rained the whole time I were there for a week and the sun did not come out until the last day . As for Invercargill, temperatures are similar but I felt that the sun made more appearances for the latter than the former.
Since I live about 25 miles from Glasgow, I guess that's what I'll pick. Although if I was choosing somewhere solely because of its climate, it's not where I'd pick.
