Actually one of the places I'm visiting is Palm Springs, CA which averages close to 70 (69F) at this time of year so it's quite possible I can see several days in the 70s while I'm down there

Nope, 60s to me is mild. Though to deneb it might start entering cool territory. I'm a mild weather lover and 60s is the best temp for me, not hot or cold.

Yes I'm driving down taking 2 days (stopping overnight at the CA/OR border). I'm going to LA, San Diego and Palm Springs.. roughly 3 days in each... be there for 10 days total..
