Theropod, why are you digging up loads of old climate battles involving the UK and then voting for the non-UK city?

Trickier than I thought. I had thought Plymouth would be an easy winner, but looking at those stats, I'm not so sue now. I dislike seasons than feel markedly cloudier than other seasons, and Plymouth has one of those. On the other hand, it is warmer in summer. Dunedin weather isn't much to write home about, but the penguins seem to like it. It's quite a fun town as well.

I just don't know. I shall decide over a cup of delicious dandelion tea, and post my decision in the morning

Plymouth, as a little sunnier and warmer... However far from one of the warmest places in Britain! Haha

Neither climate is great; this really is like choosing between Scylla and Charybdis. I suppose Dunedin does have sunnier and marginally warmer winters though.

Plymouth is a woeful climate by southern English standards -this is a deliberate plant .

I'm surprised Brest wasn't used for the excercise ,that is even worse than Plymouth

Hard to judge from the stats alone, we'll have to find out what people from Plymouth have said to Joe about Dunedin's weather

I don't have a Plymouth Anecdote, but I do have one from Norwich -I worked with someone from Norwich who moved to Dunedin for less than a year, when he was around 16. He described the summer as unbelievably hot.

He also trying living in Nelson with his family for a year in the early 2000s -he told me that the local beach offered little relief from the heat, as it was like sitting in bathwater.

A bit more extreme that most of the things I've heard over the years from Brits -but still along the same lines.

Lol we wouldn't expect anything different Joe. Did he like the fresh oranges in every yard?
