Praia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Purely in terms of comfort, I give it an A+, due to a fabulous temp range, but it is however lackluster in terms of weather interest (only about 2 months and a half of rain, very stable temps). Add a bunch of convective storms during the warmer half of the year, a few cool (eg. 15°C ) nights in winter for variety, some more variability, and we're getting seriously close to perfection.

Overall A.

Nice one, solid A for approx 2900 hours sunshine (2886 from my source) and low rainfall coupled with consistently warm temperatures.

This gets an F, I can't be in a hot tropical climate where it hardly rains.

C. Too hot and dry for my liking.

I'm surprised that it's so dry. The aridity seems to be attributed solely to the effect of the Bengulea current, but it doesn't seem as though the SSTs are dramatically cool for the latitude (22 C winter, 27 C summer) but I guess a couple of degrees cooler than average for the latitude makes all the difference.

Would be very interested in seeing climate data for the northern hinterlands of this island as it is apparently milder and wetter. There should be a happy median somewhere.

Very comfortable but very boring and also too dry with too short of a "wet" season.

D+.
