To me summer is may-september, but since summer doesnt get going until june, it must be june-august.
Last june we recorded a max of 8c which i found quite amazing, i think the record for even london is 7c so its probably 4c for northern ireland.
What is it for your area?

How on earth does an 8c max translate as that?

62F (17C). Pretty high for the lowest max. That was sometime in early June a long time ago. For July, it's 70F (21C). Coming down here in the summer, all the clothes you'll need to pack are t-shirts and shorts.

London's coldest summer day was 3rd June 1953, with a high of just 10.7C. That record was nearly broken in 2012 with a high of 13C.
The coldest July/August max would be around 14-15C.

Yep pretty close to record breaking here last June too with a maximum on 11th of just 13.4C. To put that into perspective the absolute minimum last June here was 11.5C & the average minimum came in at 13.5C...

Well let's see... I interpret "8c" as "8c" and "max" as "maximum" as in "no higher." So tell me what I'm missing here?

He said 'we recorded a max of 8c' which means during a day in June the lowest maximum recorded was 8C.
