We had some very severe storms in the area last night and this morning. Our electricity went out twice and I was about half an hour late getting to work because of flooding. We had some periods of very heavy, heavy rain! Any others getting this system?
Once again, I see greens and yellows on the radar map, at the moment, it is off to the West of us across the Mississippi River and is supposed to be organized enough to stay together when it crosses the river and we should have some scattered by this afternoon, isolated tonight and 65% for tomorrow. Whew, let us hope so, it is so dusty around here that my allergies have went into overdrive.
Looks like a hard rain for us as well, will last overnight with some chance of severe storms. from one extreme to the other. sigh.
glad you guys made it thru with minor problems and that bus crash was not as bad as it could have been, whew scary.
Kay, it looked like you guys were getting drenched down there. I thought about you and Synopsis when I was watching the weather this morning. It looks like you may be having rain the rest of the day and even into the evening, just like here. Our whole mid section is having rain right now.
Angel, what bus crash? I try to refrain from watching a lot of news anymore. I used to always like to be caught up on things happening in the world, but I must be getting old or something cause it just bothers me too much to watch some of it anymore.
A school bus turned over in the rain just north of the Dallas area this morning. Thank the Lord, it sounds like the children only had minor injuries. Two were taken to the hospital but one of our local news websites reports no major injuries. Apparently, the bus was loaded with children. So it could have been much, much worse.
The flooding has been pretty bad. One of my co-workers took her child to school and said one of the fathers car stalled and when he got out he was standing in about 4 feet of water!
I know you guys had a couple of severe weather warnings and am so glad that no tornado spawned out of these. Our news at noon said we should start to see the rain hit here around 8 tonight and get possibly severe b 3. at this point, we just need to see rain.
Glad the little ones were not hurt any more than they were. Ilive on a hill so the flooding will not be a problem.
Up in OKC we broke our yearly record for rainfall last night. We're up to 53.34 inches for the year breaking the 99 year-old record of 52.03. What's scary is we have two months left! We normally only get somewhere around 32 or 33 inches of rain on average.

Wow! That is a HUGE amount of rain. You could break 60 inches up there by year's end!
I'm telling you, that is a large amount of rain. We are 14 to 16 inches in a deficit here. But ladies and gentlemen, May I Have Your Attention Please.......
If you would direct your attention to the Southeast US radar, you will see that Mississippi now has an official rainband and it is in the very next county from me!
Now, if it will just hold together enough to GIVE us some rain, I will be very pleased.
