I thought this would be a good battle... which do you choose?

I choose Bloemfontein for being slightly sunnier and having warmer record lows.

I choose Bloemfontein for being wetter.

I would prefer Chihuahua's summer lows but 15C-16C isn't bad either.

Not much between them... both very good! I love the hot summer afternoons with cooler (but still mild) nights, and the frosty winter mornings followed by mild afternoons.

I would give the edge to Bloemfontein due to it being a bit sunnier, a little wetter and slightly cooler in summer. But it's pretty much a coin toss.

The record low for Bloemfontein is actually -12.2c. Even in an 'average' year a temperature of -9c/16f will likely be recorded given that both Feb and jan typically record a coldest night of -6.6 and -6.7c

Amazing similar climate in some ways though.

Bloemfontein, because it's wetter and cooler. Both are too dry and too hot.

Slight preference for Chihuahua, especially if that record low of -18C (according to the article) can be confirmed.
