That are "moss attacks" (for lack of a better word) here sometimes, where the wind blows in moss spores that grow very rapidly (up to the size of a dinner plate) and look quite ghastly. They dry rapidly and are hard to remove without chipping paint. Sometimes when I'm up on a high point for work, you can see the wind distribution pattern on the roofs of houses.

Last month was wet by our usual standards, but nothing exceptional, around 74mm. There has been a high frequency of rain falling though.

Yep these days happen pretty much yearly here, usually during December or January, but can happen as late as March however. They haven't happened these past 2 years however, but these last 2 winters were way warmer than normal. Take a look at February 12, 2010 here:

Interesting. Does the vegetation look much different to the rest of Florida?

A 6C day would probably be a 1 in 4 year event here, and would most likely be sunny with a cold wind and snow to low levels.

Yeah there's a lot more deciduous trees here than there is in South/Central FL, as a matter of fact when I walk around outside there's some pretty nice fall color, although I'd say about 60% of the vegetation is still green however, but that will probably change next week. It's supposed to get close to freezing here on a couple of nights next week, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets colder however. The coldest night we've had so far is 38 F (3 C) back on October 26.

Usually (about 75% of the time) 6 C days here are sunny as well, with a cold northerly breeze and cold overnight lows probably down to -7 C or -8 C.

I have to say i prefer showery rain with sunny intervals in between where can see the white cumulus towers flying over the sky.

Overcast and light to moderate rain not that much actually. But the worst is overcast, windy and drizzle all day long.

We don't get nearly enough rain where I live so I like em. However, I do not like consecutive days of overcast with constant drizzle. I wish it would pour here once or twice a week and really pour. Any sort of "downpour" here is like a once or twice a year event. Last measurable rain we got was September 21st with no rain in sight even though we're heading into the so called rainy season. I predict a major drought this year.

Days where it rains all day? No thanks. I want it in 2-3 hours at the most, and very torrential, with howling winds, gunshot thunder and hail.

2-3 hours is kind of depressing, when you've settled down with your book and cup of hot cocoa. Suddenly the sun is out and it's back to work. Happens here all the time. Give me a solid day of rain instead.
