I thought I liked rain until I moved to the UK where it has rained almost everyday this year. On the plus side everything is a beautiful shade of green I had never seen before, funny thing is despite all the rain they still have water rationing here

At least half of our rain is the "fake" rain you speak of:

It rains barely hard enough to make a road wet and rain slicked.

Usually it lasts for 6-12 hours with rainfall totals under 1/2 inch. (12 mm)

Thankfully we're not normally that soggy.

Right now I think "soggy" would be good!! Especially in CA. Those poor people. When we think it's bad all we have to do is look around and someone else has it worse.

You're right. Guess something like they're having there sort of puts one's own problems into perspective.

I hope they get the much needed rain in Southern Cal, and in the Southeast. Raleigh is looking mighty parched and warm right now.

I love walks on cloudy-misty days, it smells wonderful and is good "pondering" weather. But when we lived in Wisconsin, I liked those cloudy winter days mainly because it was warmer than clear, sunny ones.

Unfortunately being soggy in Toronto does not help southern California.

Yes I am thankfull we don't get any significant fires or earthquakes here, and hardly ever any tornados or hurricane remnants.

I actually have some relatives down that way who might have been affected by those wildfires.
I guess I'll probably find out in a few weeks if they're okay.
