Well, how many days with defined Tmax would you like to have in 365-days period:

For me:

below -30c/-22F = 5 days
from -30C/-22F to -20C/-4F = 10 days
from -20C/-4F to -10C/14F = 15 days
from -10C/14F to 0C/32F = 40 days
from 0C/32F to 10C/50F = 81 days
from 10C/50F to 20C/68F = 106 days
from 20C/68F to 30C/86F = 106 days
from 30C/86F to 40C/104F = 2 days
from 40C/104F to 50C/122F = 0 days
above 50C/122F = 0 days

70 days with freezing temperatures and 2 heat days are enough for me I think...

And reality (year 2012):

below -30c/-22F = 0 days
from -30C/-22F to -20C/-4F = 0 days
from -20C/-4F to -10C/14F = 1 day
from -10C/14F to 0C/32F = 24 days
from 0C/32F to 10C/50F = 118 days
from 10C/50F to 20C/68F = 115 days
from 20C/68F to 30C/86F = 101 days
from 30C/86F to 40C/104F = 7 days (barely above 30)
from 40C/104F to 50C/122F = 0 days
above 50C/122F = 0 days

Prolly adds up to about 365.

Thanks mate.

Here's my ideal at the moment:

Below -30 C = 0 days
-30 to -20 C = 0 days
-20 to -10 C = 0 days
-10 to 0 C = 0 days
0 to 10 C = 0 days
10 to 20 C = 20 days
20 to 30 C = 225 days
30 to 40 C = 110 days
40 to 50 C = 10 days
above 50 C = 1?

Actual for where I live?

0 to 10 C? none
10 to 20 C? 130 days?
20 to 30 C? 180 days?
30 to 40 C? 51 days?
40 to 50 C? 4 days?

No days below 20°C, ever, and about 2-3 days a year above 40°C, so most of the days in my dream climate are either in the 20/30°C or 30/40°C category.

Number of days between 20/30°C / 30/40°C, 40/50°C, respectively, per month would be something like:

Jan: 29 / 2 / 0 (avg high 25°C)
Feb: 6 / 22 / 0 (avg high 27°C)
Mar: 15 / 16 / 0 (avg high 30°C)
Apr: 5.2 / 24 / 1.8 (avg high 32°C)
May: 10 / 19.8 / 0.2 (avg high 31°C)
Jun: 13 / 17 / 0 (avg high 31°C)
Jul: 15 / 16 / 0 (avg high 30°C)
Aug: 13 / 18 / 0 (avg high 31°C)
Sep: 12 / 18 / 0 (avg high 31°C)
Oct: 13 / 18 / 0 (avg high 31°C)
Nov: 20 / 10 / 0 (avg high 29°C)
Dec: 30 / 1 / 0 (avg high 25°C)

Adding up those numbers:

Number of days below 20°C: 0
Number of days between 20°C and 30°C: 181.2
Number of days between 30°C and 40°C: 181.8
Number of days above 40°C: 2
