Did you see that the drought stricken South is in for several days of rain? I was SO glad to see that it was already sprinkling in the Atlanta area and they were supposed to be getting some much needed rain. They've been talking to the Mayor and the area was only DAYS away from being totally out of water. Finally some relief for those areas.
Sure hope we get more here in NC then with the last storm system! But anything is better then nothing. At the very least, with the cloud cover comes some much needed moisture. Boy has it been dry!!!!
It'd sure be nice if southern Cali could get a break from the awful fires and get a nice rain, too. We watched CNN off and on yesterday and it is so sad. Just think of how much a little rain could help, especially if those winds would calm down.
Those "Santa-Ana" winds are typical in So. CA. this time of year. And with the winds come those dreaded fires---every year. I just talked to my daughter who lives in Los Angeles county, CA and she said there are 11 fires burning there now. All you can hear are helicopters and planes flying overhead. She said the air is horrible. And it's HOT! So.. they have..drought, wind and hot temp. Not a good situatrion at all. But it happens to some degree every year. It is sad.
We were supposed to have so much rain on Friday and we got 10 minutes of it. I wish it would rain here at least for a day if not two days straight! Not a downpour, but a nice steady rain sure would be nice! If things dont change, Nov 1st they are going to be putting water restrictions on our area. Our leaves havent even been pretty this fall. They are all drying up and falling off the tree, some are turning color but not many.
Here in Arizona it is 'sucking it' as well in the rainfall department; so I understand what everybody else is going through-------difference here is we are already desert so we are 'geared' for eternal droughts.
That said: it is parched here by our standards even.
