Then, what would you classify a climate like Tucson, Arizona with a average max temp in the coldest month of 18c and hottest month of 38c?¿?¿?

They just had 3 inches of snow a few days ago there FYI.

You are making statements which are not true.

Here we have 16c at the average maximum of the coldest month. That month is usually quite pleasant and consistent in terms of "cold", and my favourite of the year. But if i could, i would make it much colder.

Like an average high of 5c, with abundant sun

a sunny day with daytime temps from 4c to 9c is unbeatable in terms of comfortableness, imo

We have that today. Although it was -7c this am.

As for 18c being cold. Well its my summer average max so yea i dont consider somewhere with an average of 18c to have a winter.

-10C for me.

Personally I feel very healthy in such temperatures. And I love the calm and silent atmosphere in -20C nights with distinct sparkling nightsky. It's a rarity.
1C - average ultra cloudy winters are only depressing.

I thought you were a big fan of Nelson winters ? Not many 4-9C days there, with 13C being the coldest average

My dream climate's coolest month, January, has an average high of 52°F (11.1°C).

If I didn't like snow it'd probably be in the 60's or 70's.

Im a fan of Nelson climate overall. Its sunny and it haves the best cool summers ever. Theres no place that haves colder summers temps and as well those all year temps like Nelson. So, yeah, overall Nelson is unbeatable, imo. And with an average high of 13c, im guessing there are a lot of days in winter with temps of around 9c!! Heck, we even get some 9c sunny days in winter, and we are much warmer than Nelson, im guessing Nelson will have abundant cold days in that range. And even if it didnt: 10-13c sunny temps are also wonderful, imo!

Stats from the Aero (20 years to 2009) - average number of winter days with max:

<10.0 4.1
10.0-11.9 20.8
12.0-13.9 38.6
14.0-15.9 22.8
16.0+ 5.8

Some locations further from the sea would have somewhat higher maxima.

only 4?? wow, im shocked!
well, i anyways love those numbers very much
specially the few days over 16c, wich in our winter are a lot (days with temps above 16c)

i love nelson winter and overall climate, but as in ideal i would like to have a colder coldest month. But that climate does not exist with the sun i want and the summer i want.
