Tough choice. I'm one of those people who will complain about summer when it's summer and winter when it's winter. The only thing I'm sure about with this comparison is I'd take May-September in Moscow over November-March in Rio.

Not enough sun in Moscow so I prefer Rio de Janeiro by far.

I have been in Rio twice in November now, 2 weeks each time. Neither time was it particularly hot. It seems to be a shoulder month...but December, it was hot when I am there.

It's easy choice for me, Rio has better climate and I like the city more than Moscow, where even summer nights are pretty cool.
