North Kona has a unpredictable climate.

Summers are warm and generally sunny with infrequent thunder storms. However on occasions warm summer days can turn into very hot when the winds blow from the south this can lead to drought conditions temperatures reaching the record high (39c) is regular happening every 3 to 5 years or so.

Winters in comparison are damp and drizzly similar to areas of Europe but with much more potent coldwaves which can feed the town with waves of snow showers from lake kona to the north of the town, however because the lake is relatively small the body of water looses its energy quickly.

B +

The winters are cold enough to snow but not brutally cold. Never lived in the snow so not sure if I'd like dealing with it every day (driving in it; shoveling it etc>) but found it very pretty to walk around/hang out in when I visited climates that temperature range in winter
The summers are pleasant for hanging out but not warm enough for water sports unless there's a heat wave....normal summer temps seem perfect for BBQs, walks, picnics, etc.

I also like the even distrubution of moderate precip throughout the year.....Summers are waaaay toooo dry where I live....

Very nice climate, though a little warmer than ideal in all seasons. Still not bad though. Sunshine hours and precipitation are decent.

C. Summer and winter are both several degrees lower than desired. Also the whole year is too dry.

Perfect winter temperatures with a nice amount of snowfall. I also like the even amount of precip, even if it is a little dry. Summers are cooler than I would like, but I could deal with it. I give it a B.
