Honolulu. San Jose is always cold at night, and it gets chilly there at times as well. It is also too dry.
I respectfully disagree. After a warm day, I definitely find a cool night very refreshing. Some of the winter nights may qualify as "chilly". Otherwise they are generally comfortably cool and occasionally the southern neighborhoods of SJ will stay warm on a summer night. To each their own preference, though!
Lived in Honolulu for 4 yrs...gotta say it was the PERFECT climate year round....don't need no heat, we were high enough in elevation we did not need A/C) we lived 1,600 feet up on Manaulani Circle.....great tradewinds....life was PERFECT weather wise. Have Never LIVED in San Jose, but visited family there several times....Honolulu wins if weather is the only factor....cost of living, and other things aside.

What town was this? Was it rural or a country home?

Here in San Diego, I also like cool nights sometimes. Warm nights are a rarity here for sure. I like that I can open my window to a refreshing 65F following a 90F day, with the light sea breeze and marine layer rolling in. But after a while, I'm tired of the cool nights. I find myself missing the warm humid nights of summertime in DC. Honolulu in winter gets the same 65F nights (though the humidity makes it feel more like 70F), but the rest of the year is quite warm at night (75F). I like being out and about at night without having to carry a sweatshirt, even with the sea breeze. Can't do that very often in San Diego.
Honolulu! Used to live in the Bay Area and even when it's 75+, it feels cold because it's dry and really windy. Honolulu's weather is much better for me.
