Looks like a great place to live. I would choose somewhere between New Auckland and New San Jose, as they are close to the mountains and coast, so skiing and surf are close by. There would also be a wet/dry transition heading down the coast, which would be good. New San Jose is also on a south facing bay, which is similar to where I live. Any mid lat coastal area, on a bay and facing into the sun, is a lucky place imo.

What is the land area and height of the mountains?

The new San Jose region is an interesting area as it has a lot of microclimates, depending how close you are to the coast or the mountains. New San Jose itself is sheltered somewhat so the summers there a quite warm, though not hot or humid.

The mountain chain is very similar in size and height to the Cascade-Sierra system in the United States. Highest peaks are a bit over 14,000 feet.

You did an awesome job on the map. I to have created maps of countries before thought the last one I created was a map of a whole world.

For my favorite spot in the country I'm really not sure because I can't see the climate tables. But New San Jose looks interesting due to likely having a decent amount of winter rains and having good size mountains nearby. The only thing is that I don't know if the summer would be hot enough. Other climates I like include New Sydney, New Los Angeles, New Brisbane. Really I like most climates on here as long as they have little or no snow.
