Yea, those were my faves a few years ago. Now I'm leaning more towards overwhelmingly deciduous forests. A few evergreens here and there don't hurt, though. Just make sure that they're not scots pines.

There is no such thing as a "mild front." There are warm fronts, cold fronts, and occluded fronts.

Not sure this really counts as "dumb", but I kind of see it that way when people here babble about how "great" the weather in Phoenix is when it's hot or warmer than normal. (especially when it's weather reporters who are doing this)

This always gets me thinking about the Twilight Zone Episode "Midnight Sun", and wondering if these same people would still babble about loving the heat if that's the sort of situation we were facing in Phoenix.

I had a guy from southern/central Sweden (about 2-3 degrees higher annual mean) ask me in the middle of July on Skype if "there is snow in Umeå".

LOL! Yes, sometimes people think that anything further from the equator from the place where they live is severely cold (even in the summer) and anything nearer is boiling hot!

Whenever it gets cold here and drops to near freezing, people automatically assume "it might snow" even though cold air masses like that are associated with frigid, clear and dry arctic air.

Don't have much to say about this except that if I really gave my opinion on such a topic I would most likely get another infraction from this site.........all in all, there is nothing more appalling than being stung by the proverbial rattlesnake who has no wish but to ruin my reputation by pointing out the obvious, even if it is just my curiosity to see what other people think

That **** got on my nerves so much. I ended up giving up correcting people when they made that moronic remark.
