About 1430 mm over 101 days. The wettest town (Rockville) in this region gets about 4000 mm over 155 days. Nearby Nelson gets 990 mm over 92 days, while the driest places in the region get about 550 mm over 76 days.
Rainfall tends to be moderately heavy to heavy. Drizzle isn't common but sometimes occurs, usually with sunny weather.
Parts are but not all. Even though summer rainfall rates are quite high, evaporation rates are high enough to prevent most of the area been classified as rain forest. It would still look like rain forest to most people, with 50 ft tree ferns and palms being common.
