Who mentioned NI?? Besides I'm talking averages, not absolute mins... Temperatures ACROSS northern parts of THE UK are cold tonight, temperatures still have a few hours to drop, so they will be below average in many places...

It is cold for June - 8C at midnight in June is not common, that is the average minimum - the temperature will fall away until sunrise. Frost is possible.
At 4 am every one of the 5 Lisbon stations was recording between 26 and 28ºC.
What a night, it may very well be the hottest of all year.
