Unlike in France our clouds seem to build up a lot more in the early afternoon so the max temp happens here at about 13:00-14:00. Also France's solar noon seems to be a lot later in the day compared to the actual time on the clock than ours, so I think their max temperatures happen a lot later relative to the time.
Well, maybe, but even if 18,5°C is your day's high it isn't that bad since it seems to fit perfectly the Buxton average or even is sligtly above.
