21.4°C at 23:36. Cooled down nicely after a hot day at 30.4°C. Lazin about on my laptop with a big gin and tonic on the balcony. Can hear the local scum youth shouting in the streets below. Have stones to throw.

It's 63F/17C right now at 8 PM after a warm high of 76F/24C earlier. Some Mays never get that warm, so at least we're off to a good start.

It was notably cooler along the Lakefront (where much of the population lives) with a high of only 48F/9C. Driving between the Lake and only a mile inland the temperature changed in a sharp gradient.

Only a few tiny patches of snow remain on the ground:

Some leaves are even beginning to form:

Going to have to drive out to our farm. The moisture, other than in the rivers/creeks has disappeared so fast here that maybe, just maybe, our land might dry out in time to plant.

Today our prairie winds picked up and we had lots of dust hit the air...so strange to see considering the last bit of snow, in town, melted away today and our river is still near peak crest.

Further North one community had both flooding and wildfires (our stubble out in the fields is dry as dust even though the ground is still somewhat wet... well not counting the areas that are still underwater). News Articles - The Weather Network ... tories3&...

Farmers have to get out in their fields soon and turn that dead stuff under (they keep it standing to capture snow).

High today 25C/77F.

Speak of the devil...I just checked my facebook page and a wildfire was burning out in our farm's rural municipality. Now that rm is near the hills and gets the clippers straight on. I'll have to head out there and see just how much water is standing on the fields (mind you this farm is probably on higher ground).
