This. I wouldn't have guessed that my climate was among the cloudiest ones. I regularly learn something new, for example before I assumed that cicadas were specific for mediterranean climates.

You're still a freak, the forum just proves that you're not the only one.

I assumed cicadas were specific for humid subtropical / some continental ones.

It made me realise just how much the UK really doesn't get proper seasons especially summers. It's always funny to see everybody posting 70, 80, 90 degrees in summer and here it will be 55 degrees and rain at 4PM.

And also made me realise how cool summers are in some parts of Australia. I always used to assume places like Melbourne and Sydney were always 40 degrees in summer.

I thought that too because it used to be on the news every year were it was 40c there. But it is not much warmer than London.

I thought all the snow was gone. I have no idea how any low level place at 50n could get an ice day in May. How is that even possible?

Here today we reached 8c with -5c uppers. The uppers would have to be like -20c for me to get an ice day in May.

Made me realise that the climate I live in is actually pretty good, given the number of complaints by other forumers about their climate.
Also has opened my eyes up with all the "'rate the cimate"' threads and critiques of each climate, especially from those that have actually experienced similar climates.
