Victoria for me. Nice summers, warmer winters, less snow, and I like the dry season.

This really is a tricky one, but I think I'll go with Victoria for the higher sunshine and warmer winters. The summers look cooler than Vancouver, which is the opposite to what I had thought.

Amherstburg has great temps for the 5 warmest months, but I think the winter is just too cold.

I'll go with Amherstburg for the warmer summers. Victoria looks frigid in the summer in comparison but in reality, it probably wouldn't be that bad. Still, I prefer Amherstburg's warmer summers.

VICTORIA

Victoria is close to perfection, it only needed 3 more degrees in July and August highs and 3 degrees less in December and January lows.
A for temperature

Precipitation ammount and distribution is A+

Final grade A

Amherstburg is a bit too hot in the summer, and way too cold in the winter

Amherstburg by a wide margin. Much prefer continental type climates to maritime muck though Victoria would still be a step up from the UK because of the much higher sunshine, particularly in summer.

Victoria Gonzales weather station is right on the coast, go a few blocks inland
and the avg summer highs are in the 22c range, the winter lows drop a couple of degrees too.

Perfect climate might be a mix of the two, Amherstburg summers, Victoria winters

Interesting thing for me is that both climate have an average annual temp of about 10c / 50F
but their climates not similar at all.

Here's a side by side comparison that makes the differences easy to see.
Victoria....Amherstburg /1971-2000 averages (no 1981-2010 avgs available yet)
7/3 --JAN 1/-6
9/4 --FEB 2/-5
11/5 -MAR 7/-2
13/6 -APR 14/3
16/8 -MAY 21/10
18/10 JUN 26/15
20/11 JUL 28/18
20/12 AUG 27/17
19/11 SEP 23/13
14/8 -OCT 16/7
9/5 --NOV 8/1
7/3 --DEC 2/-5

Amherstburg has much warmer summers, 5 months of summer-like weather (21c or above).
Winters are chilly but not really that cold by Canadian standards

Tough choice for me, I like both, if I had to choose....Victoria.
